Burkhart Bros. Construction holds “Beyond the Blueprint” VIP lunch at Balboa Coves headquarters

Burkhart Bros. Construction hosted a VIP luncheon at their Balboa Coves headquarters on April 1 and welcomed Brazilian born, Japanese-trained sushi chef Bruno Aguerrie into their Miele-designed kitchen. Part of the Burkhart mission is to break bread and engage in great conversation of all things home, food, wine and everything beyond. Each month, the Burkhart brothers host a guest chef and a list of VIP clientele, while putting their own skills to the test for an event experience no guest will forget.

They invited clients and community members to showcase their love of cooking, highlighting tantalizing cuisine paired with wines.

In partnership with Astrea Caviar, invited guests and community members were welcomed by Bryan and Mark Burkhart to enjoy a six-course wine pairing lunch created by Chef Bruno Aguerrie and Bryan Burkhart. The menu included specialty wines selected by Bryan, ranging from French Burgundy to Champagne, from his collection with an exceptional menu. The lunch (by course) featured: yucca croquettes filled with honey braised short rib topped with micro arugula; hamachi carpaccio (thinly sliced yellow tail tuna belly) with truffle ponzu; tuna tataki (seared bluefin tuna with pickled wasabi topped with homemade teriyaki); crispy Atlantic striped bass sandwiches with caviar tartare and micro greens; pomme de terre (American Wagyu skirt steak with potato crème) and Wagyu Nigiri (A5 Japanese Wagyu Nigiri topped with fresh truffle and 24K gold). The menu alone was something to be celebrated.

Among the Burkhart Chefs Series attendees were architectural designers Brion Jeannette, Geoff Sumich and Horst Noppenberger; John Stanaland (Douglas Elliman); YardHouse Founder Steele Platt; Newport Beach City Councilmembers Joe Stapleton and Erik Weigand; Rona Grace (Grace Blu Interior Design); Drew D’Angelo (SkySail Coastal) and publicist Alexandra Taylor.
