Most recently, Dickinson was Community Outreach Coordinator for the Irvine Barclay Theatre.

She brings 20+ years of experience working in education and community outreach in arts and other cultural organizations in Europe and the U.S. to Sherman Library & Gardens.

“I am delighted to join Sherman Library & Gardens as the first Education Director,” said Dickinson. “It is an honor to represent such a beloved cultural organization. I’m looking forward to working with the Sherman community as well as expanding our reach to new audiences.”

The newly created Education Director position was strategically designed to help advance Sherman Library & Gardens’ mission to provide the public an oasis of inspiration, education and appreciation of regional history, horticulture and the arts.

“Education is the foundation for our future. Catherine’s unique combination of skills and experience checks all the boxes of what I was looking for in an Education Director and I’m thrilled to welcome her to the team,” said Scott LaFleur, executive director of Sherman Library & Gardens.

Dickinson lives in Newport Beach with her husband and two daughters, who attend Corona del Mar High School.

Sherman Library & Gardens is a 2.2-acre property that boasts a nationally renowned botanical garden and research library with collections related to the history of the Pacific Southwest. It is located at 2647 E. Coast Highway in Corona del Mar.
