Herdman announces run for re-election to Council

On Monday, July 13th I pulled papers to run for re-election. Today (Tuesday, July 28), I filed completed forms and will be a candidate in November, again, for Newport Beach City Council.

I look forward to continuing to represent and serve you. I ask for your vote so we can continue to work together on the crisis at hand, issues of homelessness, state mandated housing requirements, the General Plan Update, and revitalizing our economy.

Election issues this year certainly evolve around this pandemic and include economic recovery efforts for businesses, as well as the City. Also, John Wayne Airport mitigation, and water quality continue to be areas of my particular priority, and I look forward to continuing to provide the leadership needed in both of these areas.

I am particularly proud of having completed the Bayside Drive Traffic Calming Project and the Park Avenue Bridge, water main replacement on Balboa Island, Grand Canal dredging, the Balboa Island seawall extension, the Big Canyon Habitat Restoration Project, Short Term Lodging ordinance revisions, and the start of election reform measures in our City. An Infrastructure Master Plan for the Balboa Islands has also been developed under my watch.

Your support of my decision to seek another term of the Newport Beach City Council will be most appreciated!
