Campout at ENC: a night out with nature

Imagine having the night-time magic of the Environmental Nature Center (ENC) at your fingertips and sleeping streamside under the stars. ENC is now offering “A Night Out with Nature” as a community program to anyone who would like a unique camp-out experience.

This program, which takes place November 19-20 from 5:30 p.m.-9 a.m., is designed for families with children ages 5+ and includes interactive activities, a night hike and s’mores around the campfire (of course!). Enjoy dinner on your own before your arrival to the ENC, or bring your own food* to cook at their campfire. Any food brought in must be in compliance with the ENC’s Zero Waste Policy.

They have plenty of firewood, plates and skewers. Families will provide and sleep in their own tents and a continental breakfast will be provided the next morning.

Cost is $65 per person (regardless of age); members receive a 10% discount.

What you will need to bring: Your own tent, sleeping bags and sleeping pads – the stuff you want when you’re camping. A flashlight or headlamp is good to have, but please try not to use it. There will be a full moon on November 19, so there will be plenty of light to see by if you let your eyes adjust.

To register, go here.

Environmental Nature Center is located 1601 E. 16th St., Newport Beach.
